Home Learning for Pupils
Thank you for showing an interest in supporting pupils with learning at home.
In order to allow pupils to build confidence and competence in skills taught at school, children are encouraged to practise and consolidate their learning at home, using platforms and apps that are familiar to them.
Below you will find information about the range of online learning platforms we use in the Academy which can be accessed on a tablet or laptop device at home, too.

Children who are learning to read or who are newly fluent, are able to access a wide range of texts online in the eBook library of Oxford Owl. These texts are carefully matched to the pupil’s phonetic knowledge (the sounds they know).

Reading Plus is a personalised online program that helps students develop skills they need to be confident, capable readers and lifelong learners. By using Reading Plus, your child will be able to read at a fluent rate with good comprehension.

Emile is a programme which allows the children to develop and practice their fluency and skills in timetables. Emile also supports children with their spelling and other areas of the Maths curriculum. Various battles and in school competitions take place each week.

SATs Companion is designed to support those pupils in Year 6 who will be taking the SATs assessments in May. It allows pupils to practise a range of skills including spelling, punctuation and grammar knowledge, arithmetic and mathematical problem solving skills as well as reading comprehension.
Please speak with your child’s class teacher for support with accessing these learning platforms at home including where to find their log in credentials.
